Past Projects

Kennedy Memorial Park, West Hartford
Ad Hoc Ecological Education Projects, 2020

During the first pandemic summer, I was spending more time in my neighborhood, and noticed that Kennedy Memorial served as a makeshift backyard for the community. I created a few accessible interventions to encourage visitors' ecological curiosity, and installed them early in the mornings so they would appear by surprise. I created original stencils and painted a found trash container and installed it near the soccer fields that were frequently littered with water bottles. I also created identification tags for a number of wildflower species in the verge around the field. Finally, I created a mini zine with more information about the wildflower species, and distributed it in a number of Little Free Libraries in the neighborhood.

Summer of Solutions, Hartford
Youth Employment and Community Garden, 2020-2022

I began volunteering with Summer of Solutions in the fall of 2020, providing garden labor and guidance. I led rainy-day workshops with the teen staff, reviewing plant biology, garden design, and maintenance. I also developed value-added products from the seasonal harvest of herbs as a fundraiser.
